    The unit works fine, but I had to modify it. There are 5 holes on this to attach to the side of the saw. 1 hole is for the chain brake (kinda important). That hole is supposed to be smaller than the other holes so a screw can thread into it. I had to fill the hole with epoxy and drill it out. So far it is working ok. My saw is older so maybe a running change was made on newer saws to use a longer bolt threaded into something substantial? Holding up for now and 1/5 the price of a genuine Stihl unit. What's wrong with Stihl and their ridiculous prices on parts anyway?

    This assembly is almost a perfect match to the original except that the hole that is used to connect the saw’s brake handle has no screw threads so there’s no way to attach the brake handle without some other kind of screw ... or something. A bit disappointing but I suppose I’ll figure out a work around
