Check The Air Filter
Chainsaw Air Filter Replacement
Cleaning or changing your chainsaw's air filter is crucial to it's performance. It may seem like a small task but whenever you feel like your chainsaw is bogging down, take a look at your air filter.
Let's Get Started
- Turn off the chainsaw and unplug it. Allow the engine to cool before performing maintenance.
- Locate the air filter. It is usually located near the carburetor, on the side or at the back of the engine.
- Release the air filter cover by loosening any screws or clips that are holding it in place with your supplied wrench.
- Remove the air filter from the chainsaw.
- Clean the air filter if it is dirty or replace it if it is damaged.
- Clean the air filter by tapping it against a hard surface to remove any loose dirt and debris. Then, use a soft brush to gently remove any remaining dirt.
- If the air filter is extremely dirty, you can wash it in soap and water, but make sure to let it dry completely before reinstalling it.
- Reinstall the air filter by reversing the steps you took to remove it. Make sure the air filter cover is securely in place.
- Start the chainsaw and check for proper operation.
Note: The exact steps may vary depending on the specific make and model of your chainsaw. Consult the owner's manual for specific instructions.
